Some 400 Venezuelan migrants were evicted Sunday from the camp they set up on the banks of the Rio Bravo in Mexico’s Ciudad Juarez (north), bordering the United States.

“They arrived with a megaphone saying that we had to leave, that we had to leave by force, and later they broke the tents, they broke the tents of some comrades,” said Michael, one of the migrants from the South American country

Dozens of anti-riot police and members of the National Guard took part in the operation, who struggled at times with the migrants, who had been occupying the tents since the end of October.

The Marthas up at the Vineyard said they’ll take them. They need them to “enrich” their lives.

Let me guess, this is another setup for BIDEN to bring in these poor refugees living in hostile and inhumane conditions and the bleeding heart liberals and deep state republicans will go along with it willingly.

If they’ve been living in that tent camp since October, they are probably lucky the citizens of Ciudad Juarez just took down the tents and ran the squatters out-it could have gone much worse if the cops hadn’t been there-at least they can-and should-decamp with haste back to Venezuela alive and relatively uninjured...

The word “comrade” doesn’t have that automatic connection to communism in Spanish-camarada-it just means companion, partner, buddy, etc-it is sort of generic- I call my best friend “compadre” but others would be camarada in Spanish...

What is the backstory on this incident? Why did the Mexicans get tough rather than just sending them across to the US welcome wagon?

My Father was a VFW state commander.
I heard him use the term comrade many times when he spoke to other veteran patriots

RE: the camp they set up on the banks of the Rio Bravo

Here’s the theme from Rio Bravo. Great movie. Song was meant to demoralize the endangered good guys who then kept morale up with Rick Nelson playing guitar and singing with Dean Martin while Walter Brennan played harmonica and John Wayne tapped his boot in time.

I have had hundreds of hispanic kids in my classes over 16 years, most of them ESL. Not once have I ever heard them refer to themselves or others as “comrade”. Compadre, homie, amigo, puto and even worse but not comrade.

Compadre or amigo are my preferred titles for friends/buddies-I’m Hispanic-Spanish has been relegated to 2nd language status in my family for longer than I’ve been around, with English being first...
