Yesterday, as chance would have it, YouTube recommended a video of the July 14, 2022 Bastille Day Parade in Paris. If you don’t know, it’s a military parade down the Champs-Elysees and takes a couple of hours.
At the beginning of the parade President Macron rides down the street taking the salutes of military units parked until he gets to the review stand where he’ll watch the different units march by. When he got out of the car, he then greeted all of the dignitaries—dozens of them.
What I found interesting was the fact that he didn’t have a ‘handler’ telling him where to walk, who to talk to, or who he was talking to. He seemed to know all of that. It was such a marked contrast to Brandon that I pointed it out to my wife. He also didn’t break into a short jog...
