One side seems to be war-mongers who give us childish slogans about Putin being Hitler, and that Russia will collapse any day now, while the other tells us Russia has basically won the war already.

Exactly. I don’t trust either side. Even if they had reporters on the ground, I wouldn’t trust the reports.

One can’t help but notice that one side is far more prolific with its propaganda on here and tends to be nastier and more shrill in their discourse.

Allegra...I'm gauging this by how much of the land bridge Putin intends to hold onto. Which is his primary goal of establishing that zone to sustain his ports and access to the sea without US/Ukraines interference in the future. Further he could possibly enlarge Russia's borders at a later time as much as possible because of all the missiles now in Nato countries bordering Russia.

If he has to he will create a conflict zone as he has in the past which keeps Ukraine from Nato membership. They will not accept membership for any nation in conflict.

The Western nations are certainly doing what they can to take down Russia and prevent it's becoming even remotely powerful again. It's no secret th US wants Russia out of the International community - left weak and ineffective on the world stage. In this thinking they underestimate Russia and it's peoples determination to survive and fight.
