The study framed the need to study the viruses and bring them to life under strict laboratory conditions as necessary to address prevention should they become active and a public health threat through, for example, such activities as open-pit mining in areas of what once was permafrost.

That worked great in the Wuhan Lab. They took a virus that was in the bat population and modified it to be infectious in humans.

Oddly any viruses thawing out of the permafrost that humans can contract we have already contracted in the past and have much genetic immunity today. Otherwise we would all be dead today as most of Europe was permafrost 20,000 years ago and it thawed and we did not die.

I hate fear PORN.

“...bring them to life under strict laboratory conditions as necessary to address prevention should they become active and a public health threat...

More like “should we screw up and let them escape...”

A scientific self-licking ice cream cone.
