Thanks for that, interesting how few people seem to know the history of Russia and Nazi Germany. Yes Russia was in cahoots with Germany. Besides the agreement meant to split Poland and take Lithuanian Estonia and Latvia Russia also allowed Germany to practice their blitzkrieg tactics on Russian soil in violation of treaty agreements after ww1. I recall one particular event where Russians were invited to inspect German armor and equipment, and the main takeaway was the Russians thought the Germans were hiding their big stuff. The Russians were building massive tanks like the KV1 because they thought the Germans were too The Panzer 1,2, and 3 didn’t impress them much and the talk of bigger tanks freaked the Germans out.
The idea that the Russians and later soviets were some kind of knights in shining armor has always baffled me, but then again the left revers them so I guess that makes sense. If the Soviet Union was not the epitome of fascism I don’t know what was. And their crimes against humanity esp the Ukrainians make the nazis look like amateurs
Hear hear!
