There hasn’t been a capable person there since Atwater!
The position needs to be held by someone who is a strategic thinker, understands on-the-ground-retail-politics, not afraid to get in the left’s face and has no more political ambitions then that job. Almost no one fits the necessary requirements except for Gingrich (Who won’t do it!).
A wild card choice might be David Horowitz. Certainly understands the mind of the left, a strategic thinker but would be weak on the retail-politics side. Too old, too intellectual for serious consideration.
Anyway it’s all controlled by the state chairs. They’re usually political careerist assholes so the choice will likely go to another PR placeholder.
