Chinese protesters overturned a vehicle and trashed a COVID-19 testing station as unprecedented uprisings continued late Monday — defying a huge police crackdown that even saw cops force-checking pedestrians’ phones.
Videos shared online showed a crowd jubilantly destroying the testing tent in Guangzhou, one of several cities to see protests late Monday, albeit smaller than those over the weekend.
As throngs of people filled the streets — some waving white sheets of paper, the symbol of the protests — several were seen tipping over a van seemingly connected to the testing station.
Other footage showed a large military vehicle moving in, with a line of officials marching in wearing hazmat suits, which journalist William Yang, president of the Taiwan Foreign Correspondents’ Club, confirmed was police “being deployed to try to disperse the crowd” in the same area.

These protests have been festering awhile. IMO the resulting riots will be big. More to come.

An amazing thing to behold, but I’ll bet it will be quashed pretty quickly.
Hear hear! I predict we’ll find out soon, as there are too many leaks in the great firewall of China, and people are getting info about what’s going on. This cannot stand, and the CCP is going to have to do something radical to stop it.
THEN we get to see if the protest has legs. Do the people lay down and take it again (As they’ve been conditioned to do for decades if not centuries), or do they stand up and fight back.
Xi is just humoring them. One more week of this peasant uprising, and he will send in his military goons to take care of them. He will most likely gun them down because after all, what’s a few million when you’ve got a billion people to replace those he eliminates! Nothing will come out of this sad to say. The only way would be if the military turns against Xi that would be an eye-opener and Hope for the Chinese folk… other than that it’s just smoke and mirrors!

I fear that the CCP will play the war card to try for unity and focus the Chinese People off of this pro-liberty demonstration. Rig a way to blame an old enemy—like Japan or the USA. The CCP—what do they have to lose? If the army sides with the people—its all over.
In China I suspect once you come out and protest... you might as well take it all the way.
Are the tank treads still gouged in the pavement at Tiananmen square?
You know, the ones that were left there as an instant reminder for anyone that drove or bicycled across them?
I don’t know, but that’s a scary thought in and of itself.
