Rishi Sunak: Golden era of UK-China relations is over
BBC ^ | 11/29

Rishi Sunak has said the so-called "golden era" of relations with China is over, as he vowed to "evolve" the UK's stance towards the country.

In his first foreign policy speech, the PM said the closer economic ties of the previous decade had been "naïve".

He said the UK now needed to replace wishful thinking with "robust pragmatism" towards competitors.

But he warned against "Cold War rhetoric", adding that China's global significance could not be ignored.

Mr Sunak has faced pressure from Tory backbenchers to toughen the UK's stance on China since he took over as Tory leader and UK prime minister last month.

I thought the "golden era" of UK-China relations involved opium.

Funny how the UK tries to remain a relevant ‘world power’ when its entire military could fit into a college football stadium with room left over.

The days of the sun never setting on the British empire are long over, SunakIdiot.

In one room, ewe say?

Excellent observation Watson
Technological wizardry made that possible.

The Chinese never saw the technological evolutionary path that the brits have and had.
That pathway went throughout the G7 natioms, with the new hub being America

Go read what President Nixon saw in 1974.
Communism could never generate those milestones of progress that the west have enjoyed.

That’s the value in freedom of speech and thought in processes.

Why do you think Russia is buying Iranian hi tech drones with Chinese motors based on British patents?

Why is the US buying 155 artillery shells from South Korea, dinkus?

Brits had no nukes, they would be nothing at all but an island that can’t even fill a college football stadium.

The Chinese laugh their ass off at the Brits and most of the West who are nothing but suicidal psychopathic hypocrites cause they know what anyone with a 4th grade education knows: The West is dying.

Well,he's got it half right. To be completely accurate he should have said "the attitude that the world's civilized, industrialized, nations have had toward Red China over the last 30+ years has been absolutely foolish".

That attitude has allowed China to transform itself from a medieval gulag to a 21st Century gulag,a gulag capable of destroying those civilized nations both militarily and economically.

Yup,pretty much. I've visited China three times. First in 1981,then in 1996 and most recently in 2017. All three visits were in the same region...southeastern China...not that far from Hong Kong.

During my first visit to Guangzhou (a major city a couple of hours north of Hong Kong) I saw a Soviet style city...with dreary Soviet style buildings and roads upon which you'd see Soviet style buses, many Soviet style military vehicles and about 750,000 people wearing Soviet style clothes and riding Soviet style bicycles.

In 2017 that same city featured many, many glass and steel skyscrapers and roads jam packed with Toyotas,Hyundais and Buicks (yes,Buicks).

Of course heading back to Hong Kong you were back in the 13th Century once you were 15 miles south of Guangzhou.

>>Chinese motors based on British patents

Current patents or expired patents?

Patents only last 21 years from filing. Any patent from the 20th Century is now expired.

This is BS. We’ve entered the world stage where it is OK’d by the CCP to say bad things about the CCP.

Dear Mr. Hanky,

155 rounds isn’t that many once the production line is going. This reduces cost significantly. South Korea probably had a run going to meet requirements for shoring up the threatening ass next door. Do you really think the forces of freedom are isolated and independent?

The west is dying? Gosh, I dunno. Today, the Chinese are rioting wanting the CCP out. Today, Iranians are rioting wanting the end of the Islamic tyrants. They want to throw the yolk off.

In the meanwhile the west is still under attack bt the 19th century Marxists and the 7th century Muslims whose coalition was held close to the obamanites hearts.

Right now, there is an re-awakening in the west sponsored by one man, President Trump.

I doubt liberty, rights and freedom are going to die.

Tooo many people are aware that both communism and Islam contributed nothing to the progress that Christianity gave the west.

We shall see

Respectfully
Himno Hero Hanky the thurd

The Economist:
Frozen Out - How the world is leaving Europe (the West) behind.

Read it and weep for the coming death of the West.

The beautiful thing in the Economist is most economists are aligned with Marxist philosophies. Opinions from economists are all varied, but, like Palestinian commentaries they are anti American. Not one economist can agree with another. Further, their opinions are like ass holes..
Everyone has one.

I dont know where you were in 1979, however, we had a problem similar to today, something called inflation. To combat it President Carter and his brightest of the bright economists jacked the interest rate to combat the scourge. What happened? The fools... Errr the experts... shut down America’s economy And their western trading partners. Needless to say the ripple affected every economy for years.

Where we are at today is very assimilar, we have exported our monetary and fiscal problems globally thereby demonstrating one more time that we aren’t dead yet in spite of three terms of obamanites.

The significance of America has not passed.

Best part?

A couple of terms by President Trump will put the spirit back into America and the west. His philosophies have already changed many international minds for the better irrespective of what your Marxist Muslim propagandists want to tell you.
