If Elon were to make a phone, I would not it.
To get away from the tech tyrants? I don’t care about specs or anything. I just want to stop my money going to these people.
And of course, choke off Chinese slave labor too. That would be nice.

if Apple cuts off Twitter, Musk has said he would make his own smartphone to compete directly with the iPhone
that could be real interesting

If he makes a phone that runs linux or a clean android with an open bootloader, I’m in.

You can always download Twitter from a download ink at Twitter itself. And Musk is probably already working on that.
Its not that hard.

If Musk made a smartphone, it’d probably need to run Android apps to have a fighting chance in the marketplace. Even Microsoft, despite throwing tens of billions at the problem, couldn’t pull off a 3rd smartphone platform at this point. The 3rd party app universe is so huge that the overwhelming share of users are going to stick with Apple or Android.

I don’t care what it runs on as long as it can run common apps. He can create his own emulator OS I don’t care. Just get me off Google and Apple for mobile devices.

I run Twitter from my browser. Never downloaded the app.
