There are about 35,000 employees etc. at the FBI. There are certainly many patriotic, God fearing folks among them. <<<

IMO, common sense...
Maybe during Bush Era. But that was 20 years ago. I would suspect everyone hired since then believes in the totalitarian state. So you see the government send in the feds, especially FBI agents. You don't see them use the military. The military is still loyal to the Constitution and to the people so they will think twice.
