They did all the time in the Winter War with Finland in 1939-40. Due to being poorly equipped.

It’s in the mid-thirties in Ukraine. That’s warm for a Russian.

Last spring it was claimed Russians were losing finger and toes due to frostbite. Temperatures were about fifty degrees.

Wrong. They are heading into winter and unless a soldier is inside a shelter w a fire, the Fox hole is his grave. Do some research into WWII.
