Freerepublic is referenced in the article.
One part of the motivation for this article was to be able to reference it in the future.
Many people today have never heard of your (Kanawa's and Sam's) experience.
The article updates what happened to Sam.
What does this bear kill with a knife have in common with the title?
Don't know how the magic of editing substituted another title for the correct one of:
Bear Attack Stopped by Man with Knife, Tarzan Style
I have reported the problem to the moderators.
Had me confused for a second there, too
LOL
The last I saw this mentioned here was October of this year.

kanawa is still around and still posting.
Okay! Thank you. Anyway, that style Buck Knife always hangs on my belt when I venture into the woods. I’m glad I never had to use it to kill a bear. I hope I never do. I don’t need that kind of excitement in my life.
Here’s the URL that matches the headline:
A test to see which freepers post based on the title vs the article. By the way, you failed to follow FR tradition!)
Man, a dogs best friend.
They sure are. I also don’t go out without at least a 12 gauge. This man did it exactly right though, he didn’t abandon his dog.
Interesting article.
There are two former mma fighters from Russia, brothers, who claim that they hunted brown bears with knives and a stick. I normally dismiss stories like that, but these 2 dudes are nuts and fiercesome fighters, so there may be some truth to,the story. Plus they are from Russia, so being part nuts and fearless is a requirement lol

Tim wells hunts brown bears and black bears too, and all kinds of animals with spears and blowouts, and the fella is an unreal bow hunter, taking flying ducks, pigeons etc with a bow

The Tootsie Pop Owl is asked how many stabs does it take to kill a Bear with a hunting knife? “One...Two...Threee...”
Hmm...Is that anywhere near Walla Walla, Washington?
What no picture of the dead bear?? I find this very hard to believe.
There were pictures in the original article, and also some of Sam and Tom and their respective wounds.
Bear Attack Stopped by Man with Knife, Mountain Man style.
Many stories of the events to bad they didn’t have Bad Ass patches then.
In Hawaii it’s common for hunters to kill boar by jumping on it’s back and cutting the boar’s throat - this of course after three or four dogs have the boar’s legs and it’s splayed out on the ground.
