You seem to confuse “50 seats up with most of the election uncounted” with “likely to be 50 seats up when the election is finished”. That was at 9 o’clock Pacific time...
With 290 seats out of 435, Republicans had a solid lead - IN DISTRICTS THAT HAD FINISHED COUNTING. Lots of red districts are VERY red! That had NOTHING to do with our being likely to take the House with a 50 seat margin!

You are the one who got confused. I’m sorry you were confused and thought Republicans were kicking butt all over at 9 PM Pacific time, but...we won big in a lot of places in Florida and lost narrowly in a lot of bluer districts.
My own district is normally a 3 point Republican district. We won it again but it wasn’t decided for SIX DAYS! And yes, many of the late counting districts have been won by Republicans.

I wrote when I went to bed around midnight, on election night, the GOP had a 50 seat lead night, which was exactly, 100% correct. I even posted video evidence.
