CNN’s Kayyem: Males Under 25 Should Not Have Assault Weapons

CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem said Friday on CNN’s “At This Hour” that no 18-to-25-year-old males should be allowed to have assault weapons.

When asked about President Biden advocating for an assault weapons ban, Kayyem said, “OK, so you first keep trying to ban them. In other words, the political momentum is clearly showing that independents and generation lockdown, who came out in numbers this last election, may continue to come out on this issue. So, they are viewing gun legislation as seriously as pro-gun advocates have been viewing it. So that is what the politics is, and it just took a while to catch up.”

Actually I was being silly in my post #2, but I’ve noticed the same thing maybe others have noticed, that for too many there isn’t much difference between 18 and 25. By 25, theoretically you’ve finished your first enlistment in the service, or finished school and started your career, got married and had your first kid, basically become an adult.

But I see so many stuck in a video-game world, unable to get off “Go”. I don’t have a solution.

Nor should they vote, legally drink or purchase alcohol, legally smoke anything or purchase same, make decisions about abortion, make enforceable life changing decisions about “gender”, make decisions about college loans, and probably a number of things I’ve left out.

We really need to come to a cultural concensus on the appropriate age for decisions and activities and the age limits should be consistent.

Adulthood should be 32. Even then, their parents should still choose their careers and marriage partner.

Just call them “Personal Defense Weapons”, and it’s OK.

Raise the voting age to 35 while you’re at it, and only to married families, business owners and/or property owning tax payers.

“Universal Suffrage” was one of the dumber ideas.
