Anna never won anything. But who cares?!
And yet everyone that watches tennis knows her.
Dudes that don’t watch tennis know her...
I remember hearing some sports-talking woman say way back when ‘Anna Kournikova better start winning some tournaments’. LOL! Again, nobody cared.
Saw her play back in July at the tournament in DC. She lost but was still a thing of beauty to watch.
No one “deserves” a pay. It is how much income you bring in.
Lots of people watch women’s tennis. So female tennis players earn well. The prettier ones even more.
Women’s soccer or basketball? Nah
Anna Kournikova only had to show up and look like she did.
Anytime she played, I watched...
The top Men’s matches sell more tickets and have a higher viewership.
They also play more sets.
I say this as someone that watches Women’s tennis.
I won’t lose sleep either way, as top players have numerous millions and I won’t match a year of their year or two income in my lifetime.
