If I understand the languange correctly, if one state recongnizes a type of marriage, other states are compelled to recognize it as well. Let utah legalize sister wives (and only one man, multiple women), and let some other state pass a law allowing women over the age of 40 to marry their favorite housecat, provided the cat has reached the age of majority in cat years.
We can be 100% principled and we’ll become extinct. That’s dumb.
Why limit marriage to "two consenting adults"? What about three consenting adults? Or three adults and two minors? Or one adult, two minors, and an antelope (so long as the antelope is consenting)?

Yep. The GOP needs to keep giving up more and more ground to the leftist activists. As the “principled conservatives” keep telling us, we need to cede the culture wars to the left and allow them to control corporations, education, entertainment, religious entities, definitions of marriage etc.
It’s the only way to win elections.

However, it should be up to each state which they can define marriage as an institution which only a man can marry a woman.
But for tax purposes, the state should only recognize civil unions.
To me, not a big deal if we treat civil unions and marriages differently.
This is kabuki theater. They gave away any chance they had at stopping this bill. Now they don’t have the votes to stop it.
Standing against perversion is not necessarily a vote loser. We should always take a stand against perverts, faggotry, and child molesters. Insure fair elections and then let’s see how we do at the polls when standing for God and country.

This is a truly dangerous bill, as it apparently does not limit the recognition to gay marriages entered into in other states.

I posit that homosexual ‘marriage’ will be a damn harder nut to crack.
