At one time, nursing home residents were locked up like prisoners.
Nobody in. Nobody out. For a YEAR.
This is medical kidnapping.
My sister was one.
It destroyed what was left of her mentally. When we were finally “allowed” to go and see her, she was like a zombie.
Her hands and feet were curled, she sat in the wheelchair crooked, couldnt hold her head up, and conversed in grunts or simply said yup and nope.
My friend’s wife quit her nursing job at a senior facility. She couldn’t take the cruelty. They were treated like inmates in solitary. She said the saddest was making the person go to the other side of the room, putting the food at the door on a table, then shutting the door behind them without talking, visiting, or even looking at them. It broke her heart. Imagine how the residents and patients felt being isolated to death.
