Only way for CA to fix their water problem is desalination plants on the coast supplying the population strip that runs from Ensenada to San Francisco. This isn't breaking news, it's been known for decades.

The cities have been slowly killing off agriculture in the Central and Imperial Valleys for 75 years now - This is the $$$ engine that powers CA, not Silicon Valley and Hollywood. Inexpensive water resources are tapped out or wasted frivolously.

My opinions….

Desalination plants can be constructed that are powered by nuclear power plants, all the fresh water you need with cheap electric power as a byproduct. Using proven technology. This would be a logical, cheap, green solution to several of California’s problems. They will never go for it.
