There are so many reasons a Westerner would not go to Qatar.
Why are they holding the World Cup there?
Did no other big country wish to host it?
The Olympics may already be at that point.
Who would really want to go to China for the winter Olympics? Even the athletes were getting screwed with. Whatever you want to say about Nazi Germany, they did not mess with the athletes, even Jesse Owen. They believed in fair play at least that far. China? Not so much.
Why is it there? Because of the money that they bribed FIFA officials.
Why are they holding the World Cup in Qatar? Because Qatar, with financial help from other Gulf states no doubt, bought FIFA lock, stock, and barrel.
