“Force the serfs to follow the law by breaking it?”

How was the Ukrainian constitution broken? Please be specific.

“There was NOTHING constitutional about the Euromaiden Revolution.”

They were peaceful protests that began in November, 2013, against Yanukovych. He was seen as corrupt and had gone against the will of the people and the parliament when he backed out of an agreement that would have integrated Ukraine more closely with the EU, and he instead said he would bring Ukraine into closer alignment with Russia.

The protests continued into 2014, and Yanukovych began cracking down on the demonstrators. That brought about the so-called Revolution of Dignity. In January, 2014 Yanukovych turned more oppressive and instituted repressive laws against protest and restricting free speech and other civil liberties. On January 22, 2014 government security forces killed protestors in Kyiv. These assaults continued into February.

Parliament confronted Yanukovych and demanded he abide by the will of the people and of parliament. Instead, Yanukovych beat feet back to Russia, abandoning his office, the presidency.

Subsequent to Yanukovych fleeing, Parliament voted to remove him from office for abandonment, and to hold new elections. In late May, 2014 Ukrainians elected Petro Poroshenko as president. Five months later, new elections were held and a new government was seated in December.

So, what occurred during this time? For one, Russia invaded Crimea on February 20, 2014, about the same time Yanukovych fled to Russia. A few weeks later Russia illegally annexed Crimea. Of course, during this period Russia was a busy little beaver stirring up unrest and revolution in eastern Ukraine.

Didn’t the Russians concentrate on knocking out the power and water when they first invaded?

No, that's an American thing.

I think the Russians made the decision to take out the energy infrastructure when they realized they were fighting NATO and the US via the EUkrainian proxy.

There is nothing I have seen thus far from the Russian military to suggest that a competent, motivated fighting force that opposes them must necessarily go down to final defeat.

So far, “turning everything they touch to sh*t forever and then blaming each other for it” is the only demonstrable skill the Russkies have shown.

What must it be like to be so ANGRY all the time?

We have a window into the workings of the mind of the small angry Bichon Frisé who lives in the yard next door, with this one.

Ukrainian Constitution is meaningless regarding the right of her former constituents to secession. The former is based on the universal civil right to self-determination. It was the US position regarding Kosovo independence. The same is going to apply to the US Southwest once it is ready to return to Mexico.

“Did you even watch the video of John McCain and Lindsey Graham talking to the Ukrainian soldiers with their Ukrainian President Poroshenko in 2016 telling them they will attack Russia in 2017 with the blessings and support from the United States?”

Yeah, I did. Quite some time ago, in fact. It has been floating around for a couple years at least. But, apparently YOU did not see it, because what you said in your post is not what was said in the clip. Or, maybe you are lying to advance an agenda.

To summarize (paraphrasing): Graham and McCain said they were in support of Ukraine fighting to defend itself against Russian aggression. They said they would take the story of Ukraine’s struggle back to Washington and would tell Washington of Ukraine’s bravery. They said they would seek to provide Ukraine with defensive equipment. They said 2017 would be the time to go on the offensive to expel Russia from Ukraine.

They said NOTHING about attacking RUSSIA. Not even the imbecilic McCain would encourage attacking RUSSIA.

You said Trump “stopped the plan” (by which I assume you mean your fictional plan for Ukraine to attack Russia itself). What Trump did, was provide Ukraine with the arms and materiel that Graham and McCain had said they would go back to Washington to lobby for.

I’ve had this precise discussion with you before, but you apparently — and conveniently — have forgotten that.

You were off-base then, too.

Of course not. You resemble me the talking head from MSNBC who at the time announced that he is going to prove that Bidens’ Ukrainian corruption is nothing. Then he literally said there is nothing to see there without evidence.

Interestingly, the bulk of the US Army exists because of this non-existent national security interest. The US maintains 20 divisions oriented to fight a peer-level armored, mechanized opponent because ... ? And the reason isnt China. The US doesnt intend to get into continental wars in Asia.

The USN and USAF have a much more global role, but the US Army is mostly there because of NATO, or in other words, Russia.

If you are complaining about the expense of the Ukraine assistance, maybe you should be complaining several times harder about an Army thats 4X the size it should be.

Smash and grab: “always, ever, about fists and threats” - union thug methodology.

Putin’s invasion of Georgia, tripped the alarm.

The last thing the Latinos want is to be part of Mexico. Most of them arent even of Mexican extraction. And gen 2+ rarely speak Spanish at all. Mexico sucks and they know that better than anyone. The worst of them want the USA to be the USA, with a local Latino flavor but lots of white chicks. The money is way, way better.

To be fair, a lot of this went on pre-Putin. There are pieces of countries that were grabbed and are still held by Russia on account of Russian speaking minorities. Who, I think, would mostly much rather be EU citizens these days.

You first made the allegation it was Yanukovych - you should support your argument, and then I’ll retort after I see your evidence, sparky.

Well, clearly English is not your native language, because your second sentence is somewhat shy of being coherent.

But, to reiterate, you and I had this very discussion a few months back; probably over the summer. So, the evidence is there, and has already been presented to you. It doesn’t surprise me that you now choose to forget it, as it laid to rest your attempt at equivalency.
