SALEM, Ore. -- The U.S. government has taken a step toward approving the expansion of a natural gas pipeline in the Pacific Northwest — a move opposed by environmentalists and the attorneys general of Oregon, California and Washington state.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, announced Friday it has completed an environmental impact statement that concluded the project "would result in limited adverse impacts on the environment.”....

No more petroleum products for these morons and the governors.
Is Russia still funding environmental groups?
Probably, but that doesn't excuse their useful idiots. They will willingly starve and freeze "to save the planet". Trouble with that is that in committing environmentally correct suicide they take a lot of innocents with them.
LET THEM EAT NUTS!
Pipelines are the safest way to transport petroleum.
“Is Russia still funding environmental groups?”
Seems that the Democrats are JUST FINE with the arrangement, if still true.
Attorney general from the three coast states all objecting, climate change y’know. Feckin’ gobshytes are everywhere.
Well, I oppose penguins and Coca Cola Polar bears, so there. We’re even.
I don’t know exactly where this line is going to run, but back 20-25 years ago there was a pipeline company that wanted to run its pipeline across Puget Sound.
They had all sorts of safety protocols, but commercial salmon fishermen pointed out that currents are sometimes over 4 knots.
The bottom they would be laying the pipe on was 60 fathoms down with numerous longitudinal grooves cut in it. The grooves were cut by glacial erratics the size of an average home.
A boulder moving at 4-5 knots would rip right through to pipeline as if it was paper.
End pipeline.
You can’t fix stupid.
Not even with a two by four!
Environmentalists drive non electric cars to meeting but all problems are caused by others here’s your ribbon.

They seem like a sitting duck target for Eco-terrorists.
Boulders would practically have to be perfect spheres on a smooth surface to move at the same velocity as the current.
Far more likely was a modelling of an anchor snag from a large boat being dragged by the current.
The pipeline map is here. The compression expansion will be done at stations 5, 7, and 9 as numbered on the map.

Well, I am no computer guy. For some reason the link works fine for me? I can download the map to a .pdf and send it to an e-mail? Bottom line there are three compressor stations that will be upgraded to provide more flow.
