The Tories descended into a fresh bout of Brexit wars today as ministers warned they will not back a push for 'Swiss-style' ties with the EU.
Government sources have been signalling that Switzerland's relationship with the bloc could be a model for the UK over the next decade.
However, despite claims free movement would not return there are fears the UK could end up accepting EU law, paying into Brussels coffers and facing higher immigration.

We went independent in 1776 and our former masters came to accept it.
The Tories are morons if they don’t learn the lessons of the past few years. The Brexit party won the last European elections and the Tories won the last general election on the basis of promising to “get Brexit done”. If they backslide into supporting some kind of “Brexit lite” that would give the EU power over Britain without even any fig leaf of democratic accountability the will get destroyed due to mass defections to Reform UK.

Bother we must !
Our Deep States are making us pay.
The UK’s is making them pay for Brexit.
Ours is making us pay for electing and continuing to support Trump.
The Brits are worried about being left out in the cold.
The Brexit faction fancied that they would be able to partner with the globalists of the US to once more rule the world, and that they would be a full partner taking into account their commonwealth ties and influence in NATO.
The US’ role as the sole global superpower isn’t looking as promising as it did a decade or two ago.
Instead, it looks more and more like regional blocs are forming.
So does Britain continue as a junior partner to the waning US or does it rejoin the EU regional bloc?
Of course, Britain would love to do both, but that’s becoming more and more unlikely.
Britan never really committed to the EU (for example, keeping the pound sterling) because it had the Commonwealth, Anglosphere (including the US), and the few remaining colonies to consider; it couldn’t have its trade ties with them set by the EU. At a certain point, it was determined that the benefits of EU partnership were outweighed by the disadvantages. Rather than play second fiddle to Germany, they’ll lead their own group (not including us) which includes Canada, Australia/New Zealand, etc..
That’s right. We did Brexit back when it was cool.
>>they’ll lead their own group (not including us) which includes Canada, Australia/New Zealand, etc..
Except that Australia is tied pretty closely to the US and China, New Zealand is pretty independent, Canada is tied to the US and Mexico, and the rest of the Commonwealth is very loosely tied to the UK. South Africa and India are BRICS countries, and India considers itself a regional power in its own right.
And the Anglosphere is a loose cultural grouping without much coherence at all, particularly since English has become everyone’s second language.
For whatever reason, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are still part of the monarchy; Charles is their king now.
