Just make sure they’re pointed at the enemy.

...we'll never get rid of them because the powers that be will never, ever, do what it takes. Of course not. It will take a Trump administration with a Congress who has the good of the nation at heart.
Pipe dream, maybe. But I can hope.

Public perception is that if it has wheels it’s an armored car, and if it has tracks, it a tank.

I was a Towed Vulcan platoon leader in 1978. Not worth a damn for air defense, but they were great on fixed targets. I had a great platoon, 3 of my 4 squad leaders were E4 “Acting Jacks.”

Tanks. (or APCs) are expensive to operate. What he needs is a couple dozen snipers. These invaders are unlawful combatants, and can be summarily executed.

“The venerable M113 series can be a platform for many excellent weapons systems, including Dual 50 cal machine guns and Vulcan 20MM cannon, 4000-6000 rounds a minute with a range over 1000 meters. This configuration would slow unauthorized crossings of even the most determined ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER.”
Take the old M45 quad .50 “meatchopper” and swap out the Ma Deuces for GAU-19A .50 Gatling guns.
Then there is good ol’ napalm😁

Yes, there are. I used to work on a research contract with Picatinny Arsenal and got to see almost all of the variations. I liked them as modified to operate as larger mortar platforms. The ones with multiple M2-HBs were also cool.
