We are beholden to no political party.
No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.
Definitely no government subsidies or tax breaks. No 501c or other IRS non-profit status.
This means no commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam. No third-parties -- not even the IRS -- trying to control what we do or say.
We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of God, family, country, liberty!!
But we cannot exist without you.

Just my 2 cents worth:
Why dont you use advertisers to help raise funds? There would be plenty of conservative advertisers willing to place adds on FR.
But put them on the bottom of the page to make the adds less intrusive.
Loyal advertisers plus Freeper donations would make FR even stronger.
I am on SS with income below the poverty line but donate $20 almost every year.IMO, Free Republic one of the best sites on the net for information and comment.

Advertisers control content and censorship. Free Republic is free of that. When FReepers no longer wish to support free speech, FR will end.
I donated. It’s not much but it’s not a great time for me financially just now.
However I encourage all Freepers to give even a little to help.

LOL. That is so true. I remember the first load of laundry I did when I went off to college. Washed a brand new sweatshirt in hot water with a bunch of other clothes. It was NOT a pretty sight, but it was a great learning experience.
I ruined one load of laundry. It’s a lesson you never forget. LOL
