Thanks, I kept reading he won, but I guess he hasn’t yet. Although, he will get enough Democrat votes to win. The Democrats will want a RINO in vs any true conservative. :(
There already has been a RINO say that if the GOP can't agree on a Speaker, he's open to voting for a Democrat. So we won't get Dems crossing the aisle to vote for McCarthy -- we'll see a RINO or two crossing the aisle to vote for a Democrat if the GOP won't unite behind the guy who has the majority support within the caucus.
Look, I'd like a conservative Speaker as well. But that means you have to elect a majority of conservatives in the caucus so we can win the vote within the GOP caucus. But if we can't win that vote among just Republicans, then we have to vote for the guy who does have majority support within the caucus because otherwise, a Democrat is going to win.
