To take it to the next level - This Frog would prefer to be cooked as quickly as possible versus the slow torture it finds itself in right now,

Okay, you'd prefer to have Pelosi, or AOC, or some other hard lefty as the Speaker of the House versus McCarthy.

But you're the conservative. Okay.

But you're the conservative. Okay. No, I am not "conservative" - that word has NO MEANING. I was born in a Commy country, we escaped in 66, arrived in the U.S in 67.

I know a little history, and I prefer to see a French Revolution with its grizzly results. Possibly after that we can rebuilt a REPUBLIC. However history informs me that some other country will be the next "King' of the world.

As Joe Stalin has said - It matters not who votes, it only matters who COUNTS the votes.

And that is where we are back in Stalin's Russia circa 1950 - And if you the first few to stop clapping after this speech, you will be sent to Siberia, just like Uncle Joe did in his day

I realize some of what I say is for amusement - However what do you call the J6 imprisonment of Trump supporters?

As you say - sure thing buddy - or possibly you are one of the FBI informers?

I've always been of the opinion that the folks crashing the gates and climbing into the Capitol were complete dumbasses. They should have known in their heads that they were going to far, and that it might not end well. So...dumbasses.

That being said, I think the penalties were ridiculously heavy, and calling it an "insurrection" is a joke.

I would say you are happy to be the frog getting boiled slowly. Each to his own.

Kevin McCarthy Wins GOP Vote for Speaker Post

Yep, and he did it with only 188 votes in the conference. So put down the GOP pompoms. Let's see him get the 218 votes necessary in the full house.

I find this Interesting - Epoch Times

Spending Bill Rule Amendment Fails
Other amendments, including several put forward by the House Freedom Caucus (HFC), failed to garner enough support.
One rule amendment put forward by Good would have required the speaker to win the support of a majority of the GOP conference
This rule, called the “majority of the majority” rule, would give conservative Republicans a tool to ensure McCarthy’s good behavior.

After the closed-door meeting, Good reported dissatisfaction with how leaders were treating proposed rule changes. Good told reporters. “It was clear that the conference leadership had lined up opposition to go to the mic to talk to—to talk against every rule proposal,
every change that we put forward, or just about every one.”

I could not agree with you more. I was so hoping that McCarthy was gone...what a loss for us for him to still be there in power.

“I prefer to see a French Revolution with its grizzly results”

What you are more likely to get is the Spanish Civil War—neighbor against neighbor—nobody knowing where the “safe” territory is....

The map is never the territory—and that is especially true during a “civil” war.

I do believe this is where we are right now. Antifa, BLM, in Houston police arrest killers, the DA/Commy Judges let the scum out on self recognizance.

It is much worse in other Large cities - so I do not see too much of a difference - civil war is on us, the 80% simply too busy with their everyday lives

I can’t vote for Kevin McCarthy for house speaker either. Mainly because I am not a member of the house.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

"We need a leader who will be an open and honest broker, facilitating the kind of comity that inspires all members of Congress to come together. Why not eliminate massive, multi-subject bills [emphasis added]?"

Great idea!

The irony of Pelosi's scandalous 2600+ page bills that she weaponized to establish things like unconstitutional (imo) Obamacare, also to politically attack Trump when he was president, Pelosi's long bills recently used to hide billions of unconstitutional, unaccountable funding that was probably used for kickbacks and helping to rig ballot boxes, much federal spending arguably stolen state revenues, is this.

Consider that one of the main federal government powers that the states have actually given to Congress to define peacetime domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service.

Certainly a bill that seeks to make changes in how the Mail Service runs doesn't need 2600 pages.

In fact, most federal government domestic policy is now based on stolen state powers (imo) that the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress has stolen, and continues to steal from the states.

"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.

But until patriots and their states wise up and eliminate the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties, probably the only way that the states can reasonably get corrupt Congress to permanently change its ways is through constitutional amendments that discourage bills that steal state powers, especially appropriations bills that also effectively steal state revenues uniquely associated with state powers.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In fact, Congress needs to be constitutionally required to not only begin each bill it makes by referencing at least one constitutional clause that reasonably justifies the bill, but also to start respecting the Constitution's Article IV which requires Congress to first successfully petition the states for new federal government powers that it needs for bills that are otherwise based on powers that Congress steals from the states.

In the meanwhile, Trump's new MAGA Representatives in Congress need to require the Congressional Budget Office to publicly announce within 24 hours (activist Pelosi ramming Obamacare through House) when an appropriations bill contains spending that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Piss the Dems off and elect Trump as speaker of the house. The speaker does not have to be a sitting member of congress. I know, not going to happen but would be funny.
