I clearly remember seeing a chart of government spending, current dollars, beginning way back in the early 1800s. It bumped along over the decades, rising very gently with blips during times of war. Then the line shot up wildly, steeply. The ascent began about two years after women were permitted to vote. The ruinous feminization of everything continues apace.
