How could the two surviving roommates not hear anything?When I was in college, it wasn't unusual for me to sleep until noon and I lived in a house with 9 other guys.
Also, the report that they called 911 reporting an unconscious person, would lead one to believe that Chaplain tried to escape and expired by the basement door. Believing he passed out from alcohol intake would square pretty well with what we've heard.

Perhaps the two surviving roommates heard groans and screeches but assumed it was sexual so didn't respond?
FWIW, the girls in the video seemed quite stoned to me.
