People still have jobs. There are job openings out there still. Inflation, on its own, doesn’t devastate the job market. That is reserved for the recession that usually shadows an inflationary period. While people are complaining that their income doesn’t go as far as it did a year ago, they are still working, paying their bills, and surviving.

From an election perspective, that meant they could still vote for Democrats, despite their guilt in causing this economic downturn. The electorate could vote on hope that the economy will somehow straighten itself out. They could embrace the illusion that they would get their student loans paid off, that America would go green, and that it might all just work out. For many, the economy just wasn’t bad enough for them to change their voting patterns.

Real change is brought about pain and ruin, right now they are just loading up credit cards to maintain the same lifestyles. maybe a limited nuclear attack would help bring about change a spiritual revival as well as the Great Depression did as the roaring 20’s was much like today.

The Red wave ran into the ICE of vote fraud.

Here is the counter to this line of thinking:

they hate you and me worse than they love themselves.

Same logic behind Muslim suicide bombers.

Today the Democrats have the majority in the House.

In six weeks we will have roughly that same majority in reverse.

For the last two years nobody talked down the Democrat majority.

For some weird reason, our side is now.

If we have the same majority the Democrats have now, it’ll be so bad.

There are times when people on my side are so embarrassing.

Americans haven't suffered enough?

That misses the point. This wasn't a contest on issues. Issues were irrelevant.

The Left has evolved into some kind of mindless cult. It is The Woke.

These people are brainwashed by living in a giant echo chamber and they believe almost to a person that the midterm elections were a matter of life or death.

They honestly believed that their world--their custom-tailored, make-believe "realities"--would come crashing down if they didn't win. Ergo, they turned out and did everything they could to win. This didn't just mean voting. This meant lying, cheating, stealing...ANYTHING. If they had to, they would turn out in numbers to vote for a dead dog (and in PA, they did).

The Republicans treated this election as, well, an election in the American political tradition. What we didn't do was behave like a monolithic, goose-stepping, single-minded lynch mob the way the Democrats did.

And we lost.

Not suffered enough? Dumb take. Mail-in voting, ballot harvesting, and Gen Z doesn’t vote on economic issues.

Stood beyond a woman with 2 kids in the grocery store today. She had her cart full…to the brim and it was a full sized cart. Just about everything you could imagine to eat a grocery would have.

She paid with a EBT card (electronic food stamps).

I’m glad her kids will eat well and all but I’m a little unhappy. I worked my whole adult life until I retired and we never fill a grocery cart to the rim. We buy what we need and nothing more and often skimp on the meats etc.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not really poor, I don’t starve but I don’t get to fill an entire cart full of well just about anything I desire to have. We budget what to eat.

Doesn’t seem fair….and yes it directly is a supporting example of the thesis of this article.

Sorry I entered this thread late.
