Just speculation here, but Musk knew he was opening Pandora's Box when he decided to bring "free speech" to Twitter.

He is a guy who, when he was younger, wrestled with depression...the kind that comes from a lack of "meaning/purpose in life." He concluded that "meaning" in his case must come from making a BIG difference.

Musk's Big difference: he is battling the Left's Cult of Woke to rescue free speech for America (and, by association, the world).

He picked this battle knowing it was going to be a knock-down, drag-out fight. And given that he's a bona-fide genius, he very well might win.
