Have you ever mentored someone?

If you have you know that you would support them, wish them well, and be the first to congratulate them when they have great success.

When someone fails to do that—and instead attacks their student in public on the student’s great night of victory—that person is dead to me.

There are no excuses and no explanations that cut it for that type of horrible behavior.

“Have you ever mentored someone?”

I’ve mentored 3 people throughout my career. I have about 10-15 years to go before retirement. I’m sure there will be another poor bastard I’ll have to shape into myself :-P :-).
They’re doing well, but all of their success is based on their own accomplishments ... I just taught them the fundamentals and little things I’ve picked up over the years to successfully design the “stuff” I make :-).

If one of them were talking to scum like Karl Rove and Jeb Bush about career advancement, I would do *exactly* what Trump did to DeSantis. I know what happens to people that listen to them ... they fail ... miserably ... since they’re working for THEM and not us.

If anything, I think DeSantis will look back on that spat and view it as a great lesson from Trump. If Trump *didn’t* care about DeSantis, he would have kept his mouth shut.

We had 16+ years of idiots like Rove and Co. being the sole “kingmakers” in the R party since 2000. They have to go away. Either go away or restrict their activities to solid blue states with RINO candidates that have a shot (i.e. stay in CA, IL, and NY).

RINO strategy is nothing but reactive, short term thinking and has been a disaster for this country. They seem to think that “whack a mole” is a great strategy for the Rs (i.e. focus on one area, win it, but ignore every other area in the country that is “Too Blue” ... that kind of thinking would have killed any of their candidates in 2016 and lets certain areas slip further and further into the blue sickness).

I think DeSantis would be a in a much stronger position finishing his term in Florida and running a POTUS campaign in 2028 on his terms ... not Rove’s or Jeb!’s or Trump’s for that matter. There is absolutely no way DeSantis can run in 2024 w/o the help of idiot RINOs with Trump running.

I could certainly be wrong of course ... nothing is certain in life except death and taxes. I simply don’t trust any of the characters from the early 00s ... to put it bluntly, they are degenerate, backstabbing scum when it comes to conservatism and are basically liberals with a war fetish. I do NOT believe Ron Desantis is a RINO ... but teaming up with those freaks doesn’t leave me with a warm/fuzzy feeling.

Finally, if I am wrong and DeSantis does in fact team up with people not aligned with the neocons, I’ll certainly change my tune and will give DeSantis more serious consideration for a 2024 run. I like Trump, but I want what’s best for our country ... if that’s Ron in 2024, I’ll be there.

(no matter how many times I look at your name, I still see “cbgb” :-) .
