Let’s Talk About Trump

The midterm clusterfark has drawn plenty of hot takes and instant analyses that range from insightful to self-serving to unbelievably stupid. But now that we have gotten past the initial blasts of the flamethrower, perhaps we should take a breath and sit down, and think about where we are as a movement and what we need to do as a party for 2024. There’s a lot to talk about, from procedural questions like how we intend to cope with the new world of extended mail voting to substantive imperatives like how we must repeal the 19th Amendment as it applies to single, liberal women who vote for their Democrat Daddy in appalling numbers. We need to ask questions about candidate selection, money, issue choices, and a bunch of other stuff. And we need to answer the question of what to do about Donald J. Trump.

My DMs and texts and chats and super-secret Townhall VIP email (Join with promo code KURT for a discount!) exploded – I mean, they went the full Nagasaki – during the 24 hours after the election, and most of it was along the lines of “I am so done with Trump!” It was not just a few people, and it was not only on back channels (Twitter was alive with Trump-roasting). It was a lot of people, and most were pretty damn hardcore. These were not Never Trump sissies or establishment shills – those losers don’t get to talk to me. These were people who, unanimously, were grateful for what Trump did.

It isn’t about saying mean things. It’s about not doing stupid things like selecting candidates to endorse based upon whether they believe the 2020 election was stolen, telling people not to vote in the 2020 Senate races in Georgia, or injecting yourself into Walker’s runoff race by announcing your election campaign a few weeks before the runoff vote.

The first thing he can do is to FINALLY understand it is the MAGA Movement, not the Donald J Trump Movement We’ll figure out the rest when he finally realizes this is more important than him

MAGA will be Donald Trumps movement until he bows out. We're not going to sit idly by while you republican pukes high jack MAGA like you did the TEA Party. You're fighting a losing battle.

You should care because there will be another set of Senate races in 2024. Why penalize yourself by losing this one. Lose this one an it’s 49-51 going into those elections. Win this one and it’s 50-50. Might not matter now, but it might really matter in 2024.

Highjack? The voters spoke.

Trump stole MAGA from Reagan, I didn’t see you complain about that. MAGA is a SET OF PRINCIPLES and POLICIES, it is not sucking someone’s d*** because he requires it.

The GOPe thanks Trump for the movement but says they can ‘take it from here’.

I don’t think so.

Nope. If they nominate someone who is a standard puke politician MAGA should stay home on mass. That is exactly what the establishment does when there favored candidate isn’t nominated and MAGA needs to do the same thing. Period. Let the Rats have it before the establishment Repukes.

In other words, take your ball and go home because you are losing at halftime . . .

Rand Paul is the nominee and you stay home?
Hawley or Jordan are the nominees and you stay home?

And plenty of others that TRUMP WOULD ENDORSE if they weren’t running against him?

Talk about Cult of Personality all you Nina Burleigh Wannabe’s

It doesn’t matter because the Rats will find the votes they need no matter what. It’s been proving many times. One of those 50 or 49 will be Murkowski and she’s just a Rat. Another one is Susan Collins. Another one I’d Mitt Romney, another one is Mitch McConnell, Another one is Lindsey Graham. The Senate is not nearly as close as the numbers make it look. Biden hasn’t been stopped and the Rats have a 1 vote majority. Open your eyes.

I am sure a candidate can be found that won’t mention election fraud, even when it happens big time. I am sure someone will be running that will not be stupid but will be smart and not say anything to upset anyone. Who knows, maybe we can run someone who agrees with everything the left is doing. Can’t get along nicer than that!!
And I am sure our candidate will lose.
Dugway, we will have to respectfully disagree here. My feeling is, many can run but only Trump will fix things.

The point is that Trump’s, or any politician’s, job is to win.

Trump (or any candidate) needs to tell us how he’s going to win despite the fraud, or how he is going to stop the fraud. To do neither and just whine about “fraud” after losses is completely pointless. It just becomes a convenient build in excuse for losing without having to reflect on changes that needs to be made.

DeSantis actually put a stop to fraud in Florida, Trump, if he were seriously concerned about fraud, should be praising what he did at talking about it every chance he gets to get the other red states to adopt similar measures.

I can’t be much more clear. If a non MAGA candidate is nominated the MAGA voters, those who are strong supporters of President Donald J Trump, should stay home. The establishment does that all of the time. They even go farther. They will vote for the Rat AND campaign for them.

Ben Shapiro had en excellent podcast last week where he breaks down the demographics of who voted for the Dems. Unmarried white women were the deciding factor. He goes into depth on why that is.

So there was no election theft?

I can't say for sure but the burden is in the person claiming theft to show evidence.

And the simple fact your favored candidate lost isn't evidence.

It is perfectly normal for Democrat candidates to be in charge of counting the votes for their race?

If you're talking about AZ the votes are counted by the various county officials, not the SOS.

Name ONE MAGA candidate besides Trump.

If you can’t, then my point stands. You are a TRUMP supporter, not a MAGA supporter. He didn’t invent MAGA, that’s been around since Reagan.

I want to address the constant drivel about Trump backing candidates that were not any good. Trump backed candidates that were normal people with normal jobs, not professional politicians. That’s exactly what our forefathers planned for us so go trash the forefathers.

As to Trump being a politician that would mean he received remuneration which we all know he did not.

I don’t want DeSantis trashed, I want him to run in 2028. If he runs this time and Trump destroys him so be it, it merely means he wasn’t smart enough to be president.

Right now I’m sick of the whole thing and disgusted that Kurt is another hero who disappoints. A man who is unable to recognize loyalty and the need for loyalty to exist is not worth admiration.
