Always the scam by these globalist to put facts infront of their face. Nixon and crew rewarded China, just a few years after China had killed or helped to kill our men in Vietnam and Korea. Nixon was trash, just like most Presidents.
Only a moron would reward china with trade, and then never enforce ip issues, trade, slave labor, environmental issues, etc. All for the corporate masters. The gop will forever be sellouts of America, just like the dems.
Richard M. Nixon was a man far before his time. If he had not been cheated out of the 1960 election by last-minute chicanery in Illinois and Texas (both engineered by Papa Joe Kennedy, who famously said, “I’m not paying for one damned vote more than I need!”), the the Berlin Wall would never have been raised, the Cuban missile crisis would never have happened, Vietnam would have been avoided altogether, and very likely the North Korean thorn would have been neutralized long ago.
The Russian Communist leaders knew and understood Nixon, in a way they never really understood JFK, who was a loose cannon back then.
Nixon’s greatest failure was that he refused to call out the widespread fraud in Chicago and Louisiana in 1960 that handed JFK the Presidency. Not only were the thieves not held accountable or punished but their power and wealth increased dramatically. It was greatly exacerbated when in 2020 Chief Justice Roberts prevented what was left of an independent judiciary to investigate the monumental fraud in the 2020 election in Pennsylvania. Since then overt fraud has been constant and by the 2020 and 2022 elections it has resulted in the will of the people thwarted. American democracy is indeed flawed and this corruption will be noted by honest historians as a significant reason for the passing of the American nation.
Nixon loved his country, which is more than can be said for ANYONE in the Democrat party, and more than a few in the Republican party.
Nixon made plenty of mistakes. He gave us the EPA. He invoked price controls, which is not as terrible a thing as we might think right now, simply because he gave us a living example of what damage price controls in ANY aspect of an economy can do. (In the same way Neville Chamberlain gave us an example in living memory of the damage that appeasement can do)
I understand Nixon was using the ChiComs as a tool (leverage point) against the Soviets, and I don’t fault him for that, but I give H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton far more fault for the damage that has taken place up to today.
But I give Nixon credit for the mining of Haiphong and bombing of Hanoi, both of which should have been done back in the mid-late Sixties instead of December 1972, and I give him credit for getting us out of Vietnam under favorable conditions.
I absolutely condemn the Democrat Congress for what happened in 1975 when the NVA flooded across the DMZ and they refused to hold up our national obligations agreed to under the Paris Peace Accord, which would have allowed us to use our airpower to stem that advance. Which we should have done.
In the end, with the knowledge of what we saw the Left (and the Assistant Democrats in the Republican Party) do to Trump, we should easily recognize what was done to Nixon in his career, and what was attempted to be done to Whittaker Chambers in his exposure of Soviet espionage in this country, perpetrated by “Americans” who are ideologically joined at the hip with entities that despise America and what it has stood for.
Nixon had plenty of faults. All people (including politicians) do. But there is not a single Democrat or RINO, of which we have (and have had) many, who are fit to shine Nixon’s shoes.
Nixon closed the window at the Treasury where foreign countries were cashing in American dollars for gold bars.
France, especially, was very busy scraping together greenbacks to buy gold. At the time, Americans could own no more than one ounce by law.
Wow!! How bass ackward can you be! Foreign policy? R U f’g kidding me? He and that idiot Kiss-assinger started this China a sh!t!!! They were the first gloBULLists. China would not be a threat if it weren’t for Nixon and globlsit offshoting!!
I enjoy telling my left-leaning friends that, in hindsight and with all I know about Watergate, etc., I’d still vote for Nixon over McGovern.
The Worst Part of Nixon’s Legacy Isn’t Watergate. It’s China.
Moving everything to China and enriching them merely made them extremely strong. It’s like finding a murderous gang member, giving him a lot of money and weapons and access to your household. Only a dumbass thinks that’s a smart plan.
50 years later? The National Review was warning about the theft of intellectual property of companies that moved operations to China at least 25 years ago.
Nixon was treacherous to our ally Taiwan. His visit to communist China was not his finest hour.
With Nixon, China was part of his Cold War strategy. He didn’t know that China would go into (sort of) capitalist industrialism in a big way. Maybe he should have known. Maybe not. I’m tempted to look up the books he wrote after leaving office to find out what he thought about the off-shoring trend.
