For Donald Trump, politics and entertainment are intertwined and often synonymous. His remarkable success at both makes his latest missteps especially puzzling because Trump is committing the cardinal sin of both: He’s become boring.
The ultimate shock jock is now predictable. Wind him up and watch him throw a garbage can full of insults at anyone who won’t kiss the ring. Ho-hum.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin are getting the Trump treatment now. Both are rising Republican stars, so naturally the former president trashes and demeans them. Can’t be competition for top dog.
Long gone is the time when Trump brought fresh blood to the old and tired Republican Party. “Low energy Jeb” brilliantly ended the career of a nominee-in-waiting, and his demolition of Hillary Clinton saved America from a disaster.
Trump’s was a consequential presidency that was far better for America and its global allies than anything produced by his predecessor or his successor. His Operation Warp Speed delivered a COVID-19 vaccine in record time, America was more prosperous and the world was safer and more stable with him in the Oval Office.
Trump achieved those gains despite a corrupt FBI, a conspiratorial Deep State, a rabid media and impeachment-obsessed Dems. He deserved a second term and, had he let his America First policies do the talking, would have had one.
Even after his reckless efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, enough goodwill remained that victory in a 2024 primary and the general election remained possible. But Trump’s conduct in his post-presidency has been so erratic that a declining slice of voters hungers for his return.

Trump lashing out at DeSantis and Youngkin us probably because he sees Conservatism, Inc., trying to topple him. The Murdoch interests, including Fox, National Review, etc., along with McConnell, Ryan, McCarthy, Graham, et.al.
“The obvious failure of the heads of the party and of Graham’s blatant sabotage is on display for everyone to see.”
Sorry, it’s football season, so it’s been missed...
Seriously, most don’t pay close attention to politics.
Yesterday, I read a 2 day old article which said Trump endorsed 25 candidates and 17 won, 2 to be decided. So, 2/3 won. Not bad.

One can win a majority of battles and yet lose a war.
I believe you are correct.
Trump has always been a tease. Palin is the same. This is a turnoff for me. Not saying they are bad people.
Still a 4D chess expert, which is why I assume the whole DeSantis rigamarole are chess moves I don’t comprehend.
I don’t agree. The battle is just getting started. Now we are understanding the rules of engagement better and can act accordingly.
The Murdoch S probably explains the Fox&Friends skit on the Dave Chappelle episode. I watch Fox&Friends, and they love Trump.
Likely...
Trump’s time may have passed, but that is still TBD.

The 4D chess analogy wears thin. Occam’s razor is often right.
Makes you think that some have never been in a battle where they were knocked off their feet, but got up and whipped the big boy. That is when the ‘big boy’ is at his most vulnerable, when they think they have the battle won. Our Republic has been knocked off its feet, as it has many times. I believe that we WILL get up and stand again. Not just my opinion, but the opinion of many. As long as God determines that we will exist, we will.
“ Seriously, most don’t pay close attention to politics.”
True, to a degree. Even I am a bit burned out of politics right now. But, in a bit people will begin to realize that Trump is right and the “Mcs” are failures, at best, and have got to go.
I have a long memory of Trump, and trump is, and always has been for one thing, and that is Trump. Nothing wrong with that, and it has sometimes coincided with what is good for America. IMO, the jury is out on whether that is still the case. We’ll all see.
Have at it Trumpers. I can take it, can you?
“Although ballot handling did raise suspicions in key states where Dems managed to lower security guardrails, the president and his team never produced evidence that it was big enough to swing the outcome.”
And this man is supposed to be sentient.
It is strange that Trump, having gone through the most vile smearing of any politician in the nation’s history, is also smeared for NOT praising DeSantis. For some unexplained reason, DeSantis is so holy, as befits a special 8th day creation by God Himself, that it is crude, rude, and unholy not to genuflect to him.
Ever notice how all these attacks on Trump started coming out on election night and the day after, almost like they were pre-written and ready to go like a well-oiled machine? The well of hatred of Trump is very deep and very bitter. I’ve heard that vulture capitalist Paul Singer is heavily funding De Santis.
In case you don’t know who Paul Singer is, this is worth listening to.

Nonsense.
We’ll see, but it’s a long time away. I think most are tired from this election cycle, and don’t want to start hearing about the next already.
1 Samuel 21
13 And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.
14 Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me?
15 Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?
EverTrumpers.
No, they cannot take it, anymore than their god can.
Well, some here have seen the light.
Bore!
The Post is all in on dividing conservative support for trump.
