The Reps must make election integrity their number one issue or they won't survive as a party. And their constituents are angry about their silence and lack of candor. I am sure DeSantis will say the system works, but Laxalt won't.
I’ve been outside working my property... Here’s my reply.
Of course, I had my doubts, only a fool wouldn’t.
But I held my tongue on the principle of not taking overt council of my fears nor causing heartache to others. A good quarterback with a crappy team doesn’t tell them they’re going to lose minutes before the game whistle.
Now, that’s not to say he wouldn’t try to make his team better—hard in practice, demanding perfection and extra effort.
And yes, not many Republicans did this, cowed as they were by the Media and the label of election denying.
I’m not actually a whiner, nor would I take some kind of perverse pleasure at being able to say I was right or wrong when truly, only God knows the future.
Now, as far as your last part goes, YES! Right now that is the issue.
The bigger challenge is how this is all portrayed. The DNCMedia will/has portray/ed this as a good thing—more voters participating in the “democratic process”, and will fight us tooth and nail to rein in mailins with ballot harvesting.
It is the same mindset of equity we were talking about earlier.
Certain bleeding hearts see American prisons filled with black men and conclude it MUST be racism; they’re in jail because only rich white criminals are able to bail themselves out—minorities can’t. Solution: No bail.
They don’t see that the preponderance of crime—especially violent crime and theft—is done by a subset of certain people. No bail is not the solution, it actually encourages crime.
In the same way, they’ll say tougher election laws are also racist. We need to stand up and call this what it is; crazy.
But that’s gonna take a MASSIVE pair.
We—and the GOP—need to take all of this seriously, and fight for our lives.
Will we?
I now officially declare my doubt about that.
Call me Eeyore.
