Here’s the distinction:
Trump’s money is his money. That is, his own money he earned or invested and got a return on.
McConnell’s money is not his own. Unless you’re talking about the Red Chinese money he got from his wife. The money McConnell has is what donors, big and little, gave him to help Republicans win. He should have spent every penny of it on Republicans, whomever endorsed them.

The article wasn’t even about Trump’s personal money. It was about his PAC’s money. People don’t read the articles sometimes.
