As this moves further east all of Crimea becomes a HIMAR shooting gallery. There won't be a Russian rowboat afloat in Sevastopol.
All Russia has to do to bring this to an end is to destroy the Dnieper bridges between Zaporozhye and Dnipro. That would cut off most reinforcements and supplies to the Ukrainian armies in the Donbas.
Why they didn’t do it earlier is a mystery. Perhaps they thought they’d alienate the civilians. Well, that has already happened with strikes on the energy infrastructure, so it’s only a matter of time (I.e. when the final invading brigades are in place) before those bridges are blown up.
