“DeSanctimonious” is Not About the Florida Governor
The Conservative Tree House ^ | November 6, 2022 | Sundance

Posted on 11/11/2022 2:48:15 PM PST by packagingguy

What I am describing above is what the background battle, within the state of Florida, around Ron DeSantis, is all about.

The Bush clan have wrapped their arms around Governor Ron DeSantis as a 2024 weapon to counteract the MAGA movement. They have poured hundreds of millions into the “acceptable Republican” effort and are in full control of the DeSantis campaign management.

The Mitt Romney’s, Mitch McConnell’s, Paul Ryan’s, Kevin McCarthy’s etc are trying to leverage the club dynamic over Ron DeSantis and provide enticements to maintain the alliance with their internal battle plan to retain full control over the Republican Party.

The Never Trumpers, financed by donors, the professional party system and club officials, are all part of the internecine battle.

When President Trump labels the former congressman, now Florida Governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious,” that background reality is the who, what, when and why.

This battle is about Republican Party control and the use of Ron DeSantis by the club members who refuse to let go of power.

Not sure what to make of this.

The article describes this whole dust-up between Trump and DeSantis being about the GOPe squashing the Make America Great Again agenda in order to keep control of the working class.

Article states this was much the same way the Tea Party was destroyed by selecting Mittens for the nomination. Mittens was a sacrificial goat intended not to beat Obama but to allow the DC Elite to maintain control over the GOP.

Is this a plausible explanation? Would DeSantis govern any differently than did Trump? Would he bow to the DC establishment?

Or would he assert himself with a people-focused agenda like Trump did and act like a boss, letting the GOPe know who's in charge?

On the other hand, do unprovoked attacks on DeSantis and Youngkin hurt MAGA more than help?

Your opinions are welcome.

And you know that how?

Oh wait, Levin says that Sundance is normally stocking shelves in a grocery store, right?

There have been plenty of times where Pres Trump went “off the handle” a bit, was criticized for it, only to be proven right?

Has he said some things I, as a supporter, absolutely wished he didn’t say? Absolutely.

Do I think he should be picking this fight? NOPE. Not in a million years.

But, how about everyone take a deep breath.

If Pres Trump burned the bridge completely, time will tell and that’ll be it for him. Or, is he privvy to information that neither of us is and he’s firing a shot across the bow?

Time will tell.

The base would do well to not immediately dismiss this theory.

So far DeSantis hasn’t governed like a squish. Seems solid. That’s why I posted this.

Didn’t want this to happen but it seems like Trump’s ego got to him. At least that’s a simpler explanation.

“Not sure what to make of this.”

I do. It’s just more made up garbage designed to divide conservatives. The old circular firing squad routine.

Stay disciplined and don’t fall for it.

Big difference between Trump and DeSantis

Trump did not need the CoC establishment big money

DeSantis does

I’m Florida man. (Okay, not THAT Florida man.) I watched what other states did during the Covid panic. It was like being managed by the one adult in the room. Unlike when Bush was governor, or even any other Republican, I have been constantly amazed and thrilled with everything he’s done. I’d vote for him for any job he wants.

Trump initiated the absurd phrase in his own posting on Truth Social. That post was weird enough. Trump then doubled down with an even weirder attack on Dan Youngkin, somehow saying his name sounded Chinese. What the hell?

Have no idea.

But it does cause me to ask if this theory could explain why Jeb Bush has been so quiet recently.

Would he bow to the DC establishment?

I believe so, because he will be beholden to them. The unusual thing about Trump was that he didn't have to kowtow to donors.

DeSantis has already got piles of Chamber of Chinese Commerce cash. He’s got some ‘splain to do on that frpmt before I am 100% comfortable supporting him.
