What’s the proposed solution? An affirmative action for the lottery? Non-Whites get their chance of winning tripled?

White/heterosexual/Christian/males/with-all-body-parts-intact/ pay, but never win. That’s where it’s heading?

Yep. I have always believed that.

I don’t see a problem with someone buying a ticket once in a while.

But the dummies who spend ten minutes at the counter, buying all the different tickets, spending a lot of money, well...that is clearly stupidity.

But hey, their choice.

OK, NO LOTTERY SOLD in black and brown communities. Redline those areas, and they’ll travel elsewhere to get their tickets, you CNN morons. Might as well just flush your money down the toilet, as you’re not going to win diddly-squat, aka “The Big One”.

When I was younger, I used to play scratch offs every once in a blue moon... $5 maybe once every 4-5months. I also thought it was fun to go play $20-$40 in slots every now and again.

Then I heard the stories about people not actually winning slots that hit jackpots because of a "computer error." Funny enough, I never heard about a pit boss or manager coming out and telling a customer that the last pull on the slot really wasn't a loser, but a $5 million win. As fun as it was to waste time with pocket change.....it kinda ruined it for me.

It's just silly fun. But you have to wonder about someone who is spending a lot of money on this stuff. And some do.

And I would not be in the least bit surprised to find that it was perfectly acceptable to use EBT to purchase lottery tickets. Not in the least, since I saw this about a mile from my house:

This both infuriated and astonished me.

My wife is a Math teacher.

I count on my fingers in public to embarrass her.

The only way to solve this is to sell scratch-off tickets to minorities...at a discount.

Back in the late-70s, I hit 5 of 6 numbers, and got $1,450 in NYC’s first million dollar drawing.
7 immigrant dockworkers won the million.

Never played it again.

I’ve often called it “a tax on people who are bad at math”.

What I get from this article is that government schools are an abject failures at teaching basic mathematics and logic.

If they target black peoples how come the winners always seem to be white? I thought they were going to whine about that.

We put signs in our yard when Tennessee was asking for a lottery - Vote NO! - but it passed.

So, when our boys went to college, we gladly took the lottery scholarship money. As far as I can see, we are THOUSANDS of dollars in the lottery “win” column.

I considered writing a thank-you note after our youngest graduated. “Thank you, all you poor people who paid for my son to get an Engineering Degree. We didn’t need the money, but thanks for your donations.”

Back when newspapers were still published, I wrote all kinds of inflammatory letters to the editor. I had about an .800 batting average getting published. But by the time our youngest graduated, newspapers were gone.. So - no letter.

I thought that whole thing about lottery funds going to education was a crock, it all goes into the general fund, and ultimately goes as graft to politicians.

Let me see.....give 13% of the lottery winnings to Blacks?

or

13% of the lottery winners must be Black?
