And the judges in Ohio, and Ken Paxton, Kris Kobach and on and on.

Parrott has run for this district before. If he wins I’ll be very surprised.
This district is very, very gerrymandered. Probably the worst in the US. It goes from just about the Congressional Country Club just outside of DC in Potomac, MD to almost Morgantown WV.
Parrott lives in a regular house, in a regular neighborhood in Hagerstown, MD about 50 miles outside of DC. I’ve delivered campaign materials to his house.
Trone is a millionaire. Not sure where he lives but you can be sure it’s not in a $300K house in Hagerstown.
We are getting those ads in South Carolina and this state voted the right way!
Looks like Maryland is gonna have to go for the graveyard again, like they did for Glendening against Sauerbrey in 1994.
I’m personally not sure, having lived there for 54 years. The relatively prosperous central area is relatively liberal and probably full of government workers and aid recipients. The Eastern Shore and western Maryland (Appalachia) are more conservative, but likely have some aid recipients as well.
My Dad grew up in Hagerstown in the 30’s. I remember visiting family there in the 60’s. I probably can’t imagine what it’s like now.
I wasn’t just thinking about blacks...I was thinking of those in towns like Chevy Chase.The ones who commute to DC and bring home 150K (or more) a year.
Until recently it probably hasn’t changed much since then :)
It’s becoming a huge distribution hub. It’s location at I70 and I81 has attracted large companies building distribution centers: Amazon, Walmart, Staples, Pepsi, and a few others I can’t remember have centers there.
Problem is that they have a hard time attracting workers as Hagerstown has a huge drug problem. Driving through downtown is like watching an episode of the Walking Dead.
I would love to see Trone lose. He owns Total Wine and More, and required masks in his stores when no other store did. His employees were obnoxious and threatening about it.
I see this happening back at the primaries. Parrot garnered more votes in the GOP primary that Trone Did in the Dem.
This had been a solid GOP district until it was Gerrymandered to the point it could not be argued in court anymore.
It will be Gerrymandered back next time to be sure.
But that’s 10 years away
Ok. So if I go to the Maryland elections website it sure looks to me like Parrott won.

It’s be nice see some numbers on how the new Governor won. I’m betting that Baltimore, Annapolis and the southern counties filled with DC employees put him in office.
Western Maryland is beautiful f you’re like me and live the country and farmland. I can’t imagine those folks being very liberal.

Huge chunk of Montgomery county, which is not even attached to us, *was*, just to give the demonic MontCo maggots a vote in OUR district.

The district was recently redrawn.
What really frosts my turnips is a guy I went to school with, whose daughter ODed on heroin, now runs a multi-facet “addiction rescue/hallway house/thrift store/coffee shop” etc was pimping for Trone in ads.

FWIW, I have to take my PTSD dog to MontCo for his oncology treatments and OMG, the place is a freak show.
No matter where I’m parked there, my doors are locked and my head is on a constant swivel.
