I reckon we will just have to wait and see how it goes.
Here is a more practical reason why Trump and DeSantis won't be on the GOP ticket. Apparently if the President and Vice President reside in the same state then the Electors from their state cannot cast their vote for them in the Electoral College. Probably high time to fix that wrinkle.
