A working majority in the House is more than a silver lining. It means the end of Biden’s disastrous legislative debacles. A senate majority of one would be a powerful tool to begin to heal the country. It would table the threat to the filibuster and put the brakes on horrible court nominations. Sometimes we should be grateful for what God gives us instead of yammering about wanting more.

RE: a change election in 2024, i.e. let’s throw the bums out. Assuming that’s the general dynamic next year as the race gets underway, it might be to the GOP’s advantage not to be in the line of fire of angry voters.
/////////////////////////////////////

Nope.

Voters this election, this week, had the chance to say I am sick of high gas prices, being forced to buy an electric car, paying sky high inflation for retail merchandise and food, facing illegals and gang members moved next door, knowing the border is wide open, being on the brink of nuclear war and knowing the President’s policies are ruining America. So I’m voting GOP.

They didn’t.

They acquiesced and were proud to say they voted against Republicans.

By this reasoning 2024 looks like status quo.

The early voting and mail-in voting is not going away. Republicans better develop a strategy to address this insanity.

Everyone dies some time.

These people will not live forever, and some day they will face the judgment of God in HIS court, and their precious “justice reform” will not get them off the hook, even if they manage to evade true justice here on this planet.

With all the cheating, I am surprised the GOP did as well as it did.

Actually that is a GREAT point.

We will stay a ‘banana republic’ until voting reforms hit the fraud states like MI, MN, PA, GA, AZ, etc.

I like the idea of an Election Day holiday for people to vote and push a paid holiday.

I’d be willing to give up Columbus Day and replace it with Election Day in combo with voter ID, no voting before election day, results by midnight etc.

This country is just a joke when you think of it.

"The early voting and mail-in voting is not going away. Republicans better develop a strategy to address this insanity."

If they'd only taken heed when Gore tried to steal the 2000 election with hanging chads. It was a sign they ignored, and we are where we are because they decided to let it slide. Those few Florida counties continued to be a problem, and it only metastasized, and infected other Democrat-run counties across the country. Florida finally seems to have straightened their election problems out, but until someone decides to do something about the wide-spread manipulation of elections, the country we once knew will be forever gone.

After last night, I figure better odds of Texas secession before a GOP president getting elected again. Pennsylvania and Michigan are gone. In the House, Democrats won 7 of 13 districts in North Carolina. The numbers don't add up anymore.

This isn’t a silver lining, at all -

The problem with all this is really about defining - the problem.

The problem isn’t overt politics.
The problem isn’t about who is elected.
The problem isn’t about who runs the elections.

All of these are just some among the symptoms of much more fundamental problems.

What the US has is a social-cultural problem, and the relevant authorities here are two Italians, Antonio Gramsci and Angelo Codevilla, and an Austrian, Schumpeter.

Throw them together and you will get some idea of the underlying illnesses the US is suffering. It’s metastatized cancer, not a surface complaint. I don’t see how this all isn’t fatal.

Why don’t you want to give up MLK Day? All he did was to give one speech.
