Massive immigration has been her #1 issue for almost 20 years now. Trump campaigned like an immigration hawk, but he instantly switched to immigration dove after the election.
Trump filled the Department of Homeland Security with Obama hold overs and Deep State lifers. Then, he politically finessed The Wall for 18 months until it became an issue in the 2018 mid-term.
Ultimately, Trump, in his first three years, before Covid, issued more Green Cards than Obama, naturalized more new citizens than Obama, and issued more foreign work permits than Obama.
