You didn’t read it at all based on your response.
You probably mis-read it. DeSantis is saying the GOP Establishment is dead wrong in their belief that open borders are needed to win the hispanic vote, NOT that he believes that open open borders are needed. He believes the opposite of the Establishment, and in closed borders.
What did you read? The headline itself is a hitpiece.
