I will never forget hearing John McCain on one side of a live split screen saying “The fundamentals of the American economy are strong!” while the other side showed the Dow falling off a cliff. That was September 15th 2008 - the day that McCain/Palin were closest in the pols to Obama/Biden. After that the polling diverged, as voters realized he either didn’t know what he was talking about, or gullibly read anything that was put in front of him by speechwriters who didn’t know what they were talking about.
And then suspended his campaign to return to DC to show his treasonous colors of bipartisanship, and the rest is history.
I will never forget him siccing the IRS on the Tea Party.
Or trying to outlaw Mixed Martial Arts because his wife was an heiress to the Budweiser fortune who happened to be the biggest sponsors of Boxing at the time.
He is a scumbag of the highest order.
