Analysis of the unit strength and the battle location indicate the fog of war drove up the reporting….the marine unit did take a hit but total casualties more like 30 KIA and another 70 wounded. The settlement is not even large enough to hold 300 fighters much less result in 300 dead fighters

Claims of poor RU command battle decisionmaking may be valid…usually these reports are sorted and acted on after the fact not in the heat of continuing battle
