There used to be a feature in the NYC newspaper Daily News of Crime Victim of the Year.
One was a young woman who was deliberately pushed down off the platform into the oncoming subway. Somehow she twisted as she fell and was knocked sideways. She was in casts and bandages and stitches in her hospital bed photo. The police made it to her apartment in time to catch the perp loading up on her cash, bank records and belongings. “I thought she was dead.”
