Milwaukee Election Commission official Kimberly Zapata could face charges accusing her of fraudulently requesting military ballots

Milwaukee Election Commission Deputy Director Kimberly Zapata, 45, of South Milwaukee was fired by Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson this week after Johnson discovered she had requested the ballots.

Milwaukee County prosecutors are considering charging Zapata with malfeasance in office, a felony, and illegally requesting a ballot, a misdemeanor, a source told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

District Attorney John Chisholm said in a statement his office is reviewing the election fraud allegations and that prosecutors "expect charges to be filed in the coming days."

Michael Maistelman, who is representing Zapata, declined to answer questions.

"We will litigate this in the courtroom, not the media," said Maistelman, who often represents Democrats including Gov. Tony Evers.

According to Democrat mayor Cavalier Johnson, Zapata is accused of requesting fake military ballots on a state website and sending them to a major critic of Wisconsin’s election process, Republican state lawmaker Janel Brandtjen.

I'm not sure why that has anything to do with her politics. Cavalier Johnson stated that she violated his trust. He, a radical left-wing Democrat, trusted her.

Kim Zapata's lawyer is Milwaukee attorney Michael Maistelman, a Democrat who has served as lawyer for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

Her ex-husband is a Mexican who needed an interpreter in court because he doesn't understand English.

I've seen absolutely nothing that points to her voting record. What she did was, allegedly have ballots sent to Brantjen (R), who in turn on Friday, Oct. 28, turned them over to the Waukesha County Sheriff.
