TRUMP: ‘They ought to impeach Mitch McConnell’ if he backs debt ceiling elimination

Former President Trump says that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) should be impeached if he backs a plan for the debt ceiling to be eliminated over fears that House Republicans could cause the U.S. to default on the nation’s credit.

When asked by conservative radio host John Fredericks on Thursday about chatter surrounding the possibility of Congress effectively eliminating the debt limit, the ex-president lambasted the idea.

“It’s crazy what’s happening with this debt ceiling. Mitch McConnell keeps allowing it to happen. I mean, they ought to impeach Mitch McConnell if he allows that,” Trump said. “Frankly, something has to be — they have something on him. How he approves this thing is incredible.”

Members of the Senate and House cannot be impeached, though both chambers can remove a lawmaker with a two-thirds vote. The president is not involved in that process.

A McConnell spokesman declined to comment.

The remark comes shortly after a renewed effort by House Democrats to do away with the debt ceiling during the upcoming lame-duck session over fears that House Republicans, who are expected to capture the majority in Tuesday’s midterm elections, will use the borrowing limit battle to win cuts in federal spending and other programs.

How about we just stop spending more than we take in?

The piggies sucking on Uncle Sam’s teats can just do without.

Might start by just impeaching MConnell on general principles. Thinking he has overstayed his welcome for several reasons.

****************

They do indeed. They also like big government. If they didn’t they would never stop fighting to reduce it.

Eliminating the debt ceiling is 180 degrees away from balancing the budget. That’s what needs to happen.

Trump should know Senators and Congressmen cannot be impeached.

Trump had better have a plan for getting control of the Congress from these RINOs after Republicans take over, this Tuesaday.

I recommend something simple that the people will get behind. Free the J6 hostages. When Mitch and McCarthy balk, you should have reason to want them hung.

The hypocrisy and weakness is deeply embedded in the party’s DNA.

1000%

If B!tch McConnell is still bestowed as a “leader” of the GOP come the end of next week, they’ve learned nothing.

As i reply to every email the RNC has sent me the past two years asking for $$, “You will get none of my money as long as B!tch McConnell is calling the shots and the Romney’s, Cheney’s and other RINO’s have a say how my money is spent.”

They stopped sending me emails asking for $$$

You can’t impeach a senator. Impeachment is only for the legislative branch to check the executive branch.

Censure and expulsion are the remedy they’re looking for.

Know the Constitution, folks.

He’s not the only one. Just look at this, and other, threads calling for the impeachment of legislative branch members. If we claim to be constitutionalist, we should know the basics.

One correction to my post above, the legislative branch can also impeachment members of the judicial branch.
