I was in DC for a wedding 4 years ago. I knew vaguely who the Proud Boys were, knew they’d had some street scuffles with extremist Leftists. I now know they were started by Gavin McInnes as mostly a men’s drinking club of Western chauvinists. Which sounds like a good idea in general.
Anyway, we were getting shuttled around for the event on a little trolley thing, and we passed a bar where there were perhaps as many as two dozen Proud Boys hanging out outside, no fewer than 15. I thought “I’d like to chat with those guys” but it wasn’t to be.
The point being that there were a lot more than 5-6 people, I don’t think them insane, nor do I think of them being militia group. It sounds to me like you’ve bought a bunch of Leftist lies about them. You should re-assess.
